At Regenesis we offer comprehensive Male Tune Up protocols for our male patients seeking improved sexual health, vitality, and performance. P-Shot. The P-Shot, short for Priapus Shot, is a medical procedure designed to improve sexual function and performance in men. The P-Shot is a non-surgical treatment that involves injecting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) into specific areas of the penis. The P-Shot works through several mechanisms:
1. Growth Factor Release: Our PRP contains very high concentrations of platelets. In such high concentrations these platelets release growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration and blood vessel formation.
2. Increased Blood Flow: The P-Shot aims to improve blood circulation in the penis to enhance erectile function and sensitivity.
3. Tissue Regeneration: Growth factors in PRP have the potential to promote the regeneration of nerve tissue, blood vessels, and smooth muscle, to improve overall penile function.
4. Collagen Production: PRP stimulates collagen production, which may improve the firmness and appearance of the penis.
5. Stem Cell Activation: The growth factors in PRP activates stem cells in the treated area, promoting tissue repair and regeneration.
1. First, we draw a client’s blood for processing in our lab into highly concentrated PRP.
2. Immediately after this blood draw, our lab processes client blood to remove virtually all red blood cells, white blood cells and other blood components not needed for tissue regeneration. Importantly, unlike PRP prepared using commercial kits, our lab processing consistently raises platelet concentrations by up to 8 to 10 times their normal levels. This lab work takes about an hour and typically yields three syringes of PRP for immediate use or freezing at -125°F for future use. Our clients typically benefit from other elements of the Male Tune Up protocol such as an EMsella treatment during PRP processing.
Our PRP releases growth factors for approximately a week following P-Shot injection. Additionally, the freeze-thaw cycle entailed in use of frozen PRP during subsequent P-Shots benefits the efficacy of PRP by creating platelet lysate (PL). PL consists of a high percentage of platelets fractured by the freeze-thaw cycle which results in the immediate rather than extended release of growth factors following injections of previously frozen PRP.
Dr. Charles Lee, our Chief Medical Officer is a board-certified Anesthesiologist with decades of experience in cardiothoracic anesthesia and general anesthesia. He also has seven years of specialized training and experience in Orthobiologic interventions such as PRP, PL, and Stem Cell injections. We perform thousands of such injections each year. 3. After our numbing the penis with buffered lidocaine, Dr. Lee injects the penis with about 3cc of PRP using very fine needles. Given our background in Anesthesia and our dislike of pain, we take extra steps to keep our clients comfortable during our procedures. Most men are a bit uneasy when it comes to the idea of PRP injections in the penis. Therefore, we take care to ensure that our clients are comfortable and have no trepidations about returning for their second and third P-Shots.
Shockwave Therapy. Our protocol entails three or six shockwave treatments. These treatments involve the application of low-intensity sound waves to the penis. These treatments typically last 20 minutes to deliver the following mechanism of action:
1. Microtrauma: Controlled microtrauma in the treated tissues.
2. Angiogenesis: Stimulates the formation of new blood vessels.
3. Tissue Regeneration: Promotes the growth of new nerve tissue.
4. Plaque Dissolution: Helps to break down plaque in blood vessels.
Synergistic Effects between the P-Shot and Shockwave. When combined, shockwave therapy and the P-Shot can provide an enhanced effect:

Electromagnetic Stimulation (EMS) of Pelvic Floor Muscles. At the beginning of P-Shot and Shockwave treatments we also recommend patents partake of EMS via six EMsella Chair treatments, two per week for three weeks. Each of these treatments take about 30 minutes to deliver electromagnetic stimulation (EMS) to pelvic floor muscles. EMS helps to restore neuromuscular control, which can significantly reduce urge incontinence. EMS also strengthens and tones voluntary and involuntary pelvic floor muscles by eliciting 11,000 supramaximal contractions per minute – many more and far deeper Kegels than an individual can perform on their own. Of note, EMsella is not appropriate for patients with metal implants above their knees (such as hip or spine implants).

Nitric Oxide. We recommend that clients add Nitric Oxide (N-O) to their daily regime during and after treatment. This supplement is in the form of two capsules taken once per day. N-O promotes artery vasodilation which relaxes the muscles in your blood vessels allowing for healthy blood flow and healthy circulation.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement (HRT). Our HRT typically entails inserting one or more small pellets of bioidentical hormones (mainly testosterone) subcutaneously in the hip or upper buttocks area.
